I was trying to buy some tickets and go this error:

I have an address saved in my account but it doesn't seem to pick it up.

There's an occasional glitch that requests delivery details even though  there's no need for them, if you empty your cart and put the in again it should work OK.

Still seem to be an issue across both browsers (Chrome & Edge) on this machine but it may just be me.

I will give it another go at home tonight,

I'll buy my tickets this evening.

What happens if the funds aren't collected?

The site will be converted to a read-only archive and moved to a low cost host. The shop will continue.

Does the site need more help financially?

Seems like its been rough since the forum changed over, but we're not going to let it die over 1000-odd  bucks.

The only source of income is the annual fundraiser, normally we raise over $1400 online prior to the event, with 3 days to go we've raised $130 this year, people are voting with their wallets, I've known this was coming for a few years, we've been bleeding users to facebook for years. I had hoped to get to 15 years and bow out gracefully but it seems it's not to be.

It would be a real shame to let this all go after many great years. We understand the move to WpForo hasn't been smooth and has caused issues around posting and activity levels but we did have a drop even before the move too on smf just due to the popularity of social media. Our Shop is doing well it will be the forum we will have to focus more attention on in the off season and come up with a better solution than what we have now.

The main reason I don't hang much around here anymore is that I moved far, far away. I've still gone and bought some tickets. We can't let this place die!

Pretty disappointing if this is the end, particularly for those of us (well, probably just me) who aren't on facebook. But if this medium is no longer of use to people, then that's how things go.

I'll buy a bunch of tickets, but if there are only a dozen or so of us interested enough to do so, then it's probably not worth going another year after this, with all the work entailed for admins etc.

I can't get past the Billing Address glitch even though I've updated what I need to update, emptied the cart & logged in & out several times.

I finally got over the billing glitch and bought the raffles tickets. I'm sorry I can't contribute more than 10 tickets to each of the raffles.

I hope the forum can continue, it is a great community of people. I'm sorry I am not around very often anymore.

The worst of the Eight Hells is called Continuous Hell. It has the meaning of Continuous Suffering. Hence the name. He who is in Continuous Hell never dies. Longevity is a big hardship in Continuous Hell.

No billing glitch here, managed to buy 10 tickets to both raffles (charity + SFCU) without any problems, paid with Paypal.

Posting on this forum has become a pain, it takes on average about 30-40 seconds for any posts to go up, and 'liking' posts takes as long, sometimes times out.. I don't know how much that contributed to the drop offs in posts on this forum (plus the fact we dominated the league for 2 seasons meaning we didn't have much to complain about), but hope this issue is sorted.. cheers all.

edit: I counted and it took 18 seconds for this post to go up, which is better than most days.. just letting you know.

I kept getting the errors as well - over different browsers etc.

Can I hand over a couple of pineapples on Saturday instead?

I had errors trying the paypal option (it won't pull through address details from paypal, though the transaction requires it). Something is wrong with that setup.

I went and clicked checkout instead, filled in the details, then payed with paypal and it was fine.

Basically the paypal express option wasn't working but the checkout option does.

We're over $1k for the fundraiser, so we should be safe for another year.

Sorry people are having issues purchasing, the items shouldn't need an address since its a digital item.

We are discussing options to fix forum performance, including moving to another platform, this one just isn't working out for us, we'll address this during the offseason.

Thank you all for your generosity and patience.

I can vouch for Facebook being a killer for forums. The Roar one has suffered badly as well (yeah yeah bring on the jokes!) lol.

Oh and the Roar forum has run solidly with no major issues on www.simplemachines.org/ for years. Just throwing it out there.

we left simplemachines because it kept getting hacked and the devs stoped supporting it. I loved it otherwise.
